Rabbits need a well
balanced diet. The easiest and cheapest method is to use a
manufactured pellet. These contain all the essential vitamins and
minerals. The only additional requirements are fresh hay and water,
which should be available to them at all times.
There are several good
mixed rabbit feedstuffs on the market but I find the rabbit will pick
out its’ favourite bits and the rest goes to waste.
In spring their diet
can be supplemented with the addition of freshly cut seeded grass [not
lawn mower cuttings] and dandelions. Only feed enough for them to eat
at one sitting. Anything left uneaten should be removed as it can
quickly ferment causing upset tummies especially in young rabbits.
